To get the equivalent of that, you would need to ingest between 25-30 capsules a day. That’s a lot of gulps of water and a lot of bathroom breaks.
Collagen Powder vs. Liquid
In order to take hydrolysed collagen from its powdered raw form to a liquid, you have to alter it. That means added colour, flavourings, fillers, etc. to make it palatable. We all know, the longer the ingredients list, the less healthy a product usually is. So, look for a supplement with only a few key ingredients and make sure they are all things you recognise. With gummies, you double up the lack of effectiveness with the inclusion of colours and flavourings. Because you’ll need up to 10-15 gummies to get close to 10,000mg of collagen, you’ll also be eating a reasonable amount of whatever else is in the gummy. That might include sugar, fillers, artificial sweeteners, colourings, and preservatives. Lots of these things are the enemy to natural collagen production (sugar, I’m looking at you!) so you might be undoing some of the benefits of taking a collagen supplement. And of course, eating 15 gummies a day is going to work out to be more costly than a scoop of powder.
